Tasting Notes
With a dark amber color this whiskey features complex aromas of orange citrus zest, sandalwood and clove. Sweetness from the corn and spiciness from the rye combine with an almost maple syrup like flavor. Vanilla and caramel notes lead to a persistent, yet subdued peppery finish.

Try our riff on this modern classic by swapping Averna for Cynar to have a less sweet and viscous cocktail. This lighter weight alternative allows our whiskey to shine through, complemented by the grapefruit accent.
Combine 1.5oz. of Redwood Empire Lost Monarch, 1.0oz of Cynar, and 1 dash of grapefruit bitters. Stir well, strain into a chilled coup. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
